HRS 1992 Imputation Release (Version 3.0) November 24, 2003 The HRS 1992 Imputation (Version 3.0) is now available. Covering three sections (Housing (D), Net Worth Other Than Housing (M), and Income (N))of the HRS 1992 interviews, and containing data for 7607 households, this release focuses on variables that are integral components of the HRS income and asset composites. Unlike their core counterparts, which are all in a single dataset named "househld", the new imputation data are arranged as three separate datasets, each conveniently named for a covered section. Methodologically, the HRS 1992 imputation data are based on a program consistent with one used for the imputations in other HRS/AHEAD waves. Because the original range cards used in the HRS 1992 interviews were no longer available, however, the range card information contained in the old imputation data was directly carried over to the new imputations. Please note that although the most extreme outliers were excluded from the imputation process used to fill missing data, they remain in the reported data. Users may wish to review distributions and consider the use of robust statistical procedures to minimize the impact of any outliers on their analyses. The dataset may be downloaded from the HRS Public File Download Area. Registration (free) is required for access. If you find any problems with the data, please report them to us via the Help Desk, or by sending e-mail directly to hrsquestions@umich.edu.
