2013 Consumption and Activities Mail Survey (CAMS)

CAMS 2013 is the seventh wave of the Consumption and Activities Mail Survey that began in 2001. The sample for the 2013 CAMS mirrored that of 2011. In the fall of 2013, 8,596 questionnaires were mailed to the CAMS sample. As was the case since 2005, there were 2 versions of the questionnaires for the 2013 CAMS. Of the 8,596 questionnaires, 5,867 were the full version, and 2,729 were the partial version. The CAMS data file contains data from 6,000 respondents. Of these, 4,067 are "full" questionnaires and 1,933 are "partial." The simple response rate is 70% for the total sample (across both versions of the questionnaires). The simple response rate for the "full" questionnaire is 69% and for the "partial" version the simple response rate is 71%.
