The Life History Mail Survey 2019 Spring (LHMS 2019 Spring) Release 1 contains questions about residential, education, employment and health history, and other important childhood and family events. The LHMS is part of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), funded under a cooperative agreement between the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan.
The field period for the LHMS 2019 Spring was June 2019 through December 2019.
The data file contains 558 variables and data for 1,591 respondents.
At the time of this data release, HRS was still reviewing cases conducted in Spanish. Data from respondents who completed the survey in Spanish will be included in the next release, planned for May/June 2023.
