CAMS 2017 is the ninth wave of the Consumption and Activities Mail Survey that began in 2001. In the fall of 2017, 7,579 questionnaires were mailed to a sub-sample of HRS respondents. The sample consisted of everyone included in the 2015 CAMS (unless they were deceased or permanently removed from the HRS sample). New spouses of the 2015 CAMS sample respondents were included (even if they did not participate in the 2015 CAMS). Of the 7,579 questionnaires, 5,376 were "full" and 2,203 were "partial" questionnaires. The 2017 CAMS data file contains 5,029 records.
