HRS 1998 Core Final Data Release (Version 2)

Version 2 of the 1998 HRS Core Final Data Release is now available. This version incorporates a number of minor changes.
- Newly coded open-ended variables including region and occupation-industry information are available in this release. Some variables previously included in the respondent-level coversheet file are now provided in a household-level coversheet file instead. A number of other variables were added or corrected. See Detailed Comparison of Variables in Version 1 and Version 2 for more information.
- The codebook includes assignment statements and additional user notes that document how values were assigned for variables created by the data collection program.
- The Data Description document includes SPSS examples in the Examples of Merging section.
